A Look at Twin Lakes' Past
Twin Lakes was first planned out in 1858. It got its name because there are two lakes very close to where the town was built.
Later, in 1878, a railroad line was built to reach the town. This made it easier for people and goods to travel to and from Twin Lakes. A post office was set up in 1881, helping people send and receive mail. The city officially became an incorporated city on April 8, 1957.
