Ueken was once a town, or municipality, in the Laufenburg area of Aargau canton in Switzerland. On January 1, 2023, Ueken joined with Herznach to form a new town called Herznach-Ueken.

Discovering Ueken's Past
In 2015, a farmer in Ueken found something amazing in his garden. He discovered many old coins from the time of the Roman Empire! The farmer quickly told the local experts who study old things.
Archaeologists, who are like history detectives, came to dig. They found a total of 4,166 coins! One archaeologist said it was a "very special discovery." The coins were made between 274 CE and 294 CE. This was during the rule of Roman emperors Aurelian and Maximian. Experts think the coins might have belonged to a trader or a rich landowner. You can see these coins at the Vindonissa Museum in Brugg, Aargau.
Ueken's Location and Land
Ueken covers an area of about 5.1 square kilometers (2 square miles). A big part of this land, about half, is used for farming. This means people grow crops or raise animals there.
Another large part, almost 40%, is covered by forests. The rest of the land has buildings and roads. A very small part is made up of rivers and streams. Most of the built-up areas are homes and other buildings.
