Vault was a special kind of soda made by The Coca-Cola Company. It came out in June 2005 and was sold until December 2011. This drink was known as a "hybrid energy soda" because it tasted like a regular soda but also gave you an energy boost. Coca-Cola marketed Vault with catchy slogans like "Drinks like a soda, kicks like an energy drink" and "The Taste. The Quench. The Kick."

What Was Vault?
Vault was a citrus-flavored drink. It shared many ingredients with another Coca-Cola drink called Surge. Vault was eventually stopped in 2011. After that, Coca-Cola brought back Mello Yello instead.
Early Sales and Release
Vault was first tested in a few places from June to September 2005. During this time, you could only find it in certain states like Alabama, Georgia, Kansas, Michigan, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Texas, and West Virginia. Vault was then released across the whole country in February 2006. This happened after commercials for the drink were shown during the pre-game show for Super Bowl XL.
Vault's Ingredients
Vault was known for having a lot of caffeine. For example, a 12-ounce can had about 70.5 milligrams of caffeine. This was more caffeine than many other popular sodas like Surge, Mountain Dew, Mello Yello, or Sun Drop.
There were a few different kinds of Vault. The two most common were regular Vault and Vault Zero.

Vault Zero Changes
In 2006, Vault Zero was changed a bit. This happened because there were concerns that some ingredients in it could, in very rare situations, create a substance that was not good for people's health.
How Vault Was Packaged
Vault came in many different sizes. You could buy it in small 16.9, 20, and 24 fluid ounce plastic bottles. It also came in 6-packs, 12-packs, 18-packs, and 24-packs of cans. Larger 1-liter and 2-liter bottles were also available, along with 16-ounce tall cans.
Different Kinds of Vault
Besides the original Vault, there were other versions:
- Vault Zero: This was a diet version of the citrus soda, released in September 2005.
- Grape Vault and Peach Vault: These flavors were only available from special Coca-Cola Freestyle machines.
- Vault Red Blitz: This new flavor came out in February 2007. It was a berry-flavored, red drink that also had a herbal boost from guarana. It was made to compete with Mountain Dew Code Red.
Vault Commercials
Television commercials for Vault often showed men doing amazing things after drinking the soda. This went along with the slogan, "Vault. Get to it!" For example, one commercial showed a man building a robot scarecrow with laser eyes to protect his farm. Other ads included a man turning his backyard into a football field, or a man making his house into a giant birdcage.
