Veazie is a small town located in Penobscot County, Maine, in the United States. In 2020, about 1,814 people lived there. The town is named after General Samuel Veazie. He was a wealthy businessman who worked with lumber and railroads a long time ago.
Veazie was once part of the nearby city of Bangor. It used the powerful water from the Penobscot River to run its sawmills. In 1853, Veazie became its own town. This happened because General Veazie, who owned a lot of property, thought Bangor's property taxes were too high.
