Olanrewaju Ogunmefun, known by his stage name Vector, is a talented Nigerian rapper, singer, and songwriter. He has released several studio albums, including State of Surprise and The Second Coming. His third album, Lafíaji, came out in December 2016.
Vector also released a mixtape called The Rap Dialogue in 2018. This was to help keep the spirit of Nigerian hip-hop music strong. In 2019, he released his fourth studio album, Vibes Before Teslim: A Journey to Self-Discovery.
You might also know his voice from a Sprite commercial. It has been played on radio stations across Nigeria since 2009. He also holds the record for the "longest freestyle rap in Nigeria." In November 2019, he partnered with Starstruck Management Inc and Create Music Group. This led to the release of his fourth music project, an Extended play called "Vibes Before Teslim: A Journey To Self-Discovery".

Early Life and School
Lanre was born in Lagos State, Nigeria. His family is from Ogun State. He is the fourth of five children. He went to school in Nigeria at Command Children School and Ijebu Ode Grammar School. He also attended Government College Victoria Island and Saint Gregory's College Ikoyi in Lagos.
Vector started his journey into hip-hop music early. He began rapping in junior high school in 1994. At St. Gregory's College, he often performed on stage during school events. In 1999, he formed a music group called Badder Boiz. They wrote their own songs and started performing as a trio.
They recorded their first demo in 1999 and performed at many talent shows. Vector was becoming a skilled emcee (a rapper who hosts events). The group, with Vector, Krystal, and Blaze, stayed together until 2004. Krystal left, and Vector continued his music journey. He later went to the University of Lagos. He graduated in 2008 with a degree in philosophy.
Music Career Highlights
Vector released his first official song, "Kilode," in February 2010. This song was part of his album State of Surprise. The music video for "Kilode" came out in June 2010. His second song, "Mary Jane," was released in April of the same year. The State of Surprise album was released on October 29, 2010. It featured famous artists like 2 Face Idibia and General Pype.
In June 2011, he released a video for his song "Get Down," which also featured 2Face Idibia. He was nominated for "Best Mainstream Hip Hop Video" at the Nigerian Music Video Awards in 2011. He was also nominated at the 2010 Nigeria Entertainment Awards. This was for "Best Collaboration With Vocals" for the song "Champion," where he was featured by General Pype.
His songs "Angeli" (featuring 9ice) and "Mr. Vector" (featuring Jazzy) were released in May 2011. These songs were very popular on radio stations across Nigeria. The video for "Angeli" was released in October 2011. In 2020, he released a song called "OG" with BigTril, Raezy, and Larry Gaaga. He also collaborated with pallaso on the "Bubble Remix."
Vector released "Born Leader," a song featuring Mavado. This was the third song from his second album, The Second Coming. He filmed the music video in Miami, Florida. In August 2013, he was featured on a song called "Popular" by producer Pheelz. This song also received a lot of airplay.
In January 2015, Vector released a rap song called "King Kong." The music video for it was released in the same month. Vector later released two remixes of "King Kong." The first remix featured Phyno, Reminisce, Classiq, and Uzi. The second remix featured Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie. These remixes came out in May and June 2015. The video for the first remix was released in July 2015.
On July 15, he released a new song called "Kanawan Dabo." On July 24, he released a freestyle called "8." In May 2020, Vector signed a record deal with Def Jam Africa. This is a part of Def Jam Recordings in Nigeria. In December 2022, Vector was part of the Africa Cypher (Hennessy Cypher) in Nigeria. Other artists like A-Reece, M.I Abaga, M.anifest, and Octopizzo were also featured.
