Vidal Marín Fernández (born February 22, 1653 – died March 10, 1709) was an important Spanish church leader. He served as a bishop in the city of Ceuta starting in 1694. Later, in 1705, he became the Grand Inquisitor of Spain. This was a very powerful position in the Catholic Church at that time. He held this role until he passed away in 1709.

About Vidal Marín Fernández
Vidal Marín del Campo was born in a town called Mora, Spain. This happened on February 22, 1653. He grew up to become a respected figure in the church.
Early Career and Church Roles
Before becoming a bishop, Vidal Marín held several important jobs. He was a master at Santo Domingo de la Calzada. He also worked as an Inquisitor in the city of Salamanca. An Inquisitor was a church official who investigated matters of faith.
Becoming a Bishop
On September 13, 1694, Vidal Marín was chosen to be the Bishop of Ceuta. This decision was made during the time of Pope Innocent XII. He officially became a bishop on December 19, 1694. Jaime de Palafox y Cardona performed the special ceremony for this.
Grand Inquisitor of Spain
In 1705, King Philip V of Spain gave Vidal Marín an even bigger role. He named him the Grand Inquisitor of Spain. This meant he was the main leader of the Spanish Inquisition. The Spanish Inquisition was a system that worked to make sure people followed Catholic rules.
His Later Life and Burial
Vidal Marín Fernández died on March 10, 1709. He was first buried in Madrid. However, his remains were later moved. In 1714, they were taken to Ceuta, where he had served as bishop.
