Vivian Hoo Kah Mun (Chinese: 许家雯; Mandarin Pinyin: Xǔ Jiāwén; Jyutping: Heoi2 Gaa1 Man4; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Khó͘ Ka-bûn; Pha̍k-fa-sṳ: Hí Kâ-vùn; born 19 March 1990) is a Malaysian former badminton player. She is known for her amazing skills in women's doubles. Vivian is the older sister of Hoo Pang Ron, who is also a badminton player from Malaysia. She officially retired from playing badminton on January 9, 2025.

Vivian Hoo's Badminton Journey

Vivian Hoo was a top badminton player from Malaysia. She often played in the women's doubles event. She reached the top 10 in the BWF World Ranking with her partner, Woon Khe Wei.

Winning Gold at Commonwealth Games

Vivian won the Commonwealth Games women's doubles event twice. Her first gold medal was with Woon Khe Wei at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. She won her second gold with Chow Mei Kuan at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast.

Olympic Experience

Vivian and her partner Woon Khe Wei also competed in the 2016 Rio Olympics. They made it to the quarter-finals, which is a great achievement!

About Vivian's Life

Vivian is not the only badminton player in her family. Her younger brother, Hoo Pang Ron, also plays badminton for Malaysia. Vivian studied at the University of Malaya.
