Volleyball at the Summer Paralympics facts for kids
Volleyball is an exciting sport played at the Summer Paralympics. It first became a Paralympic sport in 1976. Back then, men competed in a version called standing volleyball. There was also a special sitting volleyball game for men, but it was just a demonstration sport that year.
Sitting volleyball became an official event for men in 1980. Both standing and sitting volleyball for men were part of the Paralympics until 2000. Women's sitting volleyball was added later, starting in 2004.
