Walford is a small city located in the state of Iowa, in the United States. It is unique because it sits across two different areas: Benton County and Linn County. In 2020, about 1,366 people called Walford home. This city is also part of the larger Cedar Rapids metropolitan area.

A Look at Walford's History
Walford was first established in 1884. It was originally named Terry. This happened when the Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul Railroad built its tracks through the area.
A few years later, in 1889, the town's name was changed. The United States Postal Service asked for the change. This was because the name "Terry" was too similar to another Iowa town, Perry, Iowa. So, the town became known as Walford.

Walford is located in Iowa. The city covers a total area of about 1.04 square miles (2.69 square kilometers). All of this area is land. There are no large bodies of water within the city limits.
