About the Warner River

The Warner River is an important natural feature in New Hampshire. It helps carry water from the land to bigger rivers. This process is important for the environment. It also provides homes for many plants and animals.

Where the River Starts

The Warner River begins at Todd Lake in Bradford, New Hampshire. This is its source. A short distance from Todd Lake, another stream joins it. This stream is called the West Branch.

The River's Journey

From its start, the Warner River flows towards the east. It passes by Lake Massasecum. Then, it enters the town of Warner.

In western Warner, the river has a section with fast-moving water. This is called a whitewater section. It flows under the Waterloo Covered Bridge. This bridge is next to an old train station.

After passing under Interstate 89, the river becomes calmer. It flows slowly over areas of gravel. There is a small waterfall at a place called Davisville. After the waterfall, the river becomes calm again.

The Warner River ends by joining the Contoocook River. This meeting point is in the town of Hopkinton. It is just north of the village of Contoocook, New Hampshire.

Following the River

If you want to see the Warner River, you can follow New Hampshire Route 103. This road runs alongside the river for most of its path. It's a great way to see the different parts of the river.
