West Hill is a well-known hill located in the beautiful county of Dorset in southern England. It stands just west of the village of Evershot. This hill reaches a height of 224 meters (about 735 feet) above sea level.

West Hill is special because it is listed as a "Tump." A Tump is a hill that rises at least 30 meters (about 98 feet) from the land around it. West Hill has a prominence of 63 meters, which means it stands out quite a bit from its surroundings. It is also part of the Dorset Downs, a range of chalk hills in the area.

Exploring West Hill's Summit

The very top of West Hill is mostly flat and open. This makes it a great spot to enjoy the views. You can find a public footpath that runs along the southern side of the summit. This path is perfect for walking and exploring the area.

Horsey Knap Lane

On the northern side of West Hill, there is a lane called Horsey Knap. This lane crosses over the side of the hill. It then goes down into the nearby village of Evershot. It's a scenic route for anyone wanting to visit the village from the hill.
