Discovering West Perth
Where is West Perth?
West Perth is an inner suburb of Perth. It used to be a special place where rich business people and politicians lived. Now, it's a mix of different buildings. You'll see lots of office blocks instead of just homes.
What's West Perth Like?
Many people who work in mining, as consultants, or as medical specialists have offices here. Streets like Colin Street, Ord Street, and Outram Street have many offices and tall apartment buildings.
Most of the shops are on Hay Street. This is the main shopping area for West Perth. These shops mostly serve the people who work in the offices nearby.
Closer to the city center, you'll find the Watertown brand outlet complex and the City West complex. This spot was once home to the Perth Metropolitan Markets from 1929 to 1989. The markets then moved to Canning Vale.
A Great Place to Live
In 2018, West Perth was named the best place to live in the world! This was decided by an international company called SAS.
