Westford is a small town located in Otsego County, New York, in the United States. In 2010, about 868 people lived here. Westford is found southeast of the famous town of Cooperstown.

Westford's History
The area that is now Westford was first settled around 1790. Early pioneers came from places like Vermont. Some people believe the very first settler was Robert Roseboom from New Jersey. He made his home in a spot now known as Maple Valley.
During the 1790s, many more settlers arrived from New England. They were looking for new land to farm. These new residents helped establish the first churches and schools in Westford. The town of Westford was officially created in 1808. It was formed from a part of the nearby town of Worcester.
Westford's Geography
Westford covers a total area of about 33.91 square miles (87.82 square kilometers). Most of this area is land, about 33.85 square miles (87.68 square kilometers). Only a tiny part, about 0.06 square miles (0.14 square kilometers), is water.
Two important streams flow through Westford. Elk Creek flows south through the town. Cherry Creek runs through the southwestern part of Westford, in an area called Cherry Creek Valley.

- Darling Hill – Another hill, located west of Westford.
- Elk Creek – An important stream that flows out of the southern part of the town.
- Hooker Mountain Wildlife Management Area – A special area in the southwestern part of town set aside for wildlife conservation.
- Maple Valley – A small community (hamlet) in the northern part of Westford. You can find it on County Road 34.
- Westford – This is the main community, or hamlet, located near the center of the town.
- Westville – A hamlet found where County Roads 35 and 42 meet, close to the western edge of the town.
