Wesley Tyler Glass (born October 26, 1992), known as Wheezy, is an American music producer and songwriter. He creates the beats and sounds for many popular songs. You might recognize his special sound tag, "Wheezy Outta Here!", which is often said by the rapper Future at the start of songs he produced.

Wheezy has worked on many successful songs and albums for famous hip hop artists. Some of the artists he has produced for include Kanye West, Lil Uzi Vert, Young Thug, Lil Baby, Future, Nav, 21 Savage, Gunna, Travis Scott, and Meek Mill.

He became very well-known in the late 2010s. Wheezy produced two songs that reached the top ten on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. These were "Yes Indeed" by Lil Baby and "Going Bad" by Meek Mill. He produced all the songs on Gunna's first EP, Drip or Drown (2017). He also helped lead the production for Gunna's albums Drip or Drown 2 (2019) and Wunna (2020).

Wheezy's Early Life

Wesley Tyler Glass was born on October 26, 1992. His mother is from Vicksburg, Mississippi, where he was born. His father is from Atlanta, Georgia. Wheezy moved between these two places before settling in Atlanta.

When he was 15, Glass started making music beats. He learned how to use a music software called FL Studio from his brother, TG Montana. Later, he worked with Shad da God, who was part of the group Rich Kidz. Other experienced producers like Metro Boomin and Southside have given Wheezy advice on making music. He has also worked with them.

How Wheezy Makes Music

The Fader magazine has described Wheezy's music style as "spacious and spare." This means his beats often sound open and not too crowded with many different sounds. He was praised for the clear and unique sound on albums like Barter 6 and the Slime Season series.

Wheezy uses FL Studio software and an M-Audio Oxygen 88 keyboard to create his music. He often uses samples, which are small pieces of existing sounds or music. He especially likes to use older, "vintage" sounds. He also has a special way of blending his drum sounds, like snares. A tool he uses often is called VST Purity, which he has used since he first started producing.

Wheezy has been inspired by other music producers. Some of his influences include Drumma Boy, Shawty Redd, DJ Toomp, and WondaGurl. You can always tell a Wheezy production by his famous tag, "Wheezy outta here!"
