Whitehall is a city in Wisconsin, United States. It is the main town, or county seat, of Trempealeau County, Wisconsin. The city is located along the Trempealeau River. In 2020, about 1,645 people lived there.
Whitehall is found along the old Green Bay and Western Railroad line. It is located about halfway between the cities of La Crosse and Eau Claire.

History of Whitehall
Whitehall began around 1860 or 1861. It was first settled by Ole Knudtson. He arrived in June 1860 and started a hotel and a place to fix metal. The first post office opened in 1861. Benjamin F. Wing named the city. He might have named it after other places called White Hall or Whitehall.
A railroad track was built through the Trempealeau River valley in 1873. The tracks were laid where Whitehall is now on September 2, 1873. The first passenger train came through Whitehall on January 1, 1874. The city officially became a city in 1887.
