Whitetop Mountain is a very tall mountain in the state of Virginia, United States. It is the second highest independent mountain in Virginia. It is also the third highest named peak in the state. The tallest mountain in Virginia is Mount Rogers, which is nearby.

Whitetop Mountain is located where three counties meet: Grayson, Smyth, and Washington Counties. It is also part of the Mount Rogers National Recreation Area. This area is inside the larger Jefferson National Forest.

White Top Folk Festival

From 1932 to 1939, a special event called the White Top Folk Festival took place on Whitetop Mountain. This festival happened every year except for 1937. It was a place where people celebrated traditional music and culture.
