Exploring the Wiegand River

The Wiegand River is a natural waterway found in the Thunder Bay District of Ontario, Canada. It's a smaller river that plays a part in a much bigger water system.

Where Does the Wiegand River Start and End?

The Wiegand River begins its journey at a place called Adrian Lake. This lake is located in Adrian Township. From there, the river first flows towards the northwest.

After a while, it changes direction and turns to the northeast. It then enters another area known as Horne Township. Finally, the Wiegand River reaches its end, flowing into the Matawin River.

Part of a Bigger Water System

The Matawin River, which the Wiegand River joins, then flows into the Kaministiquia River. The Kaministiquia River eventually empties into Lake Superior. Lake Superior is one of the five Great Lakes, which are huge freshwater lakes in North America. This means the Wiegand River's water eventually makes its way to the Great Lakes Basin.
