Wild About Animals is the 18th album by the much-loved children's music group Sharon, Lois & Bram. It was first released in 1997. This album is a special collection of their best songs all about animals! You could find it on cassette tapes and CDs.
The album was released on the group's very own record label, Elephant Records. This happened after they stopped working with their previous distributor in the U.S. Because of this, Wild About Animals was only sold in Canada. The group called it their "musical tribute to fur, feathers, feelers and fins," celebrating all kinds of creatures!
Awards for Wild About Animals
This album was recognized for its quality! It received the Our Choice Award from the Canadian Children's Book Center in 1997. This award shows that the album was a great choice for kids and families.
Live Shows and Performances
Unlike some of their other albums, Wild About Animals didn't have a big tour or lots of promotions. However, Sharon, Lois & Bram still performed a special series of nine concerts. During these shows, they sang many of the animal-themed songs from the album.
They performed three concerts on November 30, 1997, at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa. They also put on six shows at the Hummingbird Centre in Toronto from December 5 to 7, 1997. It's estimated that about 25,000 people came to see these nine concerts!
