Wildfire is an exciting American animated TV show from 1986. It was made by Hanna-Barbera. The story is about Sara, a 13-year-old girl who lives in the American West. Sara finds out she is actually a princess from another world! Her main goal is to fight the evil witch Lady Diabolyn. The show first aired on CBS and had 13 episodes, running from September to December 1986.
The Story of Wildfire
As a baby, Princess Sara (voiced by Georgi Irene) was saved from the wicked Lady Diabolyn (voiced by Jessica Walter). Lady Diabolyn was the stepsister of Sara's mother, Queen Sarana. After Queen Sarana passed away, Lady Diabolyn wanted to take over the kingdom. She learned dark magic and teamed up with scary creatures called Spectres.
A magical talking horse named Wildfire (voiced by John Vernon) rescued baby Sara. He took her from their home planet, Dar-Shan, and brought her to Montana on Earth. There, a kind farmer named John Cavanaugh (voiced by David Ackroyd) adopted her and raised her.
Twelve years later, when Sara was ready, Wildfire brought her back to Dar-Shan. He calls Sara using her magic amulet, which transports her across different dimensions to her true home. Sara teams up with her friends to stop her evil step-aunt. Her friends include Alvinar (voiced by René Auberjonois), a sorcerer; Dorin (voiced by Bobby Jacoby), a young boy; and his shy colt, Brutus (voiced by Susan Blu). Back on Earth, John and Sara's Native American friend Ellen (voiced by Lilly Moon) support her.
Lady Diabolyn gets help from her mischievous helpers called Goons. These Goons include Dweedle (voiced by Billy Barty), Nerts, Booper, Mudlusk (voiced by Frank Welker), and Thimble. They used to be Diabolyn's guards. But they turned into monsters after opening a special urn that held the Spectres, even though Diabolyn told them not to.
Each episode of Wildfire showed more about the magical world of Dar-Shan. It slowly revealed what happened in the past that led to the current problems. Later, it was discovered that John, Sara's adopted father, was actually Prince Cavan, her real father! He was sent to Earth to protect him from a curse placed on Dar-Shan by Lady Diabolyn and the Spectres. Only Sara and Wildfire know John's true identity, and they keep it a secret even from him.
