Will Brenton is a British writer, producer, and director. He has worked a lot in television and theatre. He started two companies, Tell-Tale Productions and Wish Films, with his friend Iain Lauchlan. Together, they were nominated for six BAFTA awards. They also won a BAFTA in 2000 for Best Pre-School Live Action.

Who is Will Brenton?
Will Brenton is known for creating many popular children's TV shows. He also writes books and directs live shows. He has worked on shows for young children and even for older audiences.
Early Career and Teamwork
Will Brenton and Iain Lauchlan first met on a BBC children's show called Playbus. They were presenters together. After that, they started writing and performing in pantomimes. These shows were at the Belgrade Theatre in Coventry from 1991 to 2000. The pantomimes they created are still performed today across the UK.
Creating Famous Children's Shows
While working together, Will and Iain created many well-loved children's TV shows. These include:
- The Tweenies
- Fun Song Factory
- Boo!
- BB3B!
Later, with their company Wish Films, they also created 'Jim Jam and Sunny' for ITV. These shows became very popular with children.
Directing and Writing for Different Audiences
Will Brenton has also directed shows for adults. In the 1990s, he directed episodes of the famous TV dramas Coronation Street and Emmerdale.
In 2010, he helped write and direct a very successful live show. It was called 'The Monsters Are Coming' and was based on Doctor Who. The show starred Nigel Planer and featured music by Murray Gold. It toured big arenas all over the UK.
Writing Books for Kids
Will Brenton has also written books for children. His first books were 'Claude' and 'Elephant White'. They were released in 2011 and 2012. These books were published by Egmont and Templar.
Recent Projects and Live Shows
More recently, Will Brenton has continued to write and direct large live shows. These shows are often performed in big arenas. Some of his recent projects include:

- 'Justin and Friends'
- 'Cbeebies The Big Band'
He has also written and directed live shows for 'The Hairy Bikers'. He even directed David Hasselhoff in a 'Peter Pan' show in Manchester.
In 2015, Will Brenton worked on the next 'Basil Brush Live' show. He also wrote and directed the 'Justin and Friends - Mr Tumble's Circus' arena tour.
Developing New TV Shows
Will Brenton also developed and produced a show called Melody for CBeebies. This show is about a girl who is partially sighted. She imagines stories when she listens to classical music. A second series of Melody was made in 2014.
Wish Films After Iain Lauchlan
Iain Lauchlan left Wish Films in 2009. Will Brenton then ran the company with Helen Cadwallader. They produced a TV show based on Mick Inkpen's 'Wibbly Pig' books. This show was nominated for a Gemini Award in Canada. They also produced a show based on An Vrombaut's 'Dear Dragon' books. These appeared on Disney UK as 'Florrie's Dragons'.
