Wood Village is a small city located in Multnomah County, Oregon, in the United States. Even though its name includes "Village," it is officially recognized as a city. In 2020, about 4,387 people lived there.

History of Wood Village
Wood Village was first built as a "company town." This means it was created mainly to house workers for a large factory nearby. The factory was a Reynolds Aluminum plant in Troutdale. This plant closed down in the year 2000.
The city also used to have a large factory belonging to the Merix Corporation. It was about 90,000 square feet in size.
Becoming a City
Wood Village officially became a city on June 18, 1949. People voted on it, and 156 people said yes, while 35 said no. Neighbors in Fairview also gave their approval.
In the past, there were talks about joining Wood Village with nearby cities like Fairview and Troutdale. This idea was discussed in the late 1960s and early 1980s.
A brand new building for the city government, called the city hall, opened in September 2021.
Geography and Parks
Wood Village covers a total area of about 0.94 square miles (2.44 square kilometers). All of this area is land, meaning there are no large lakes or rivers within the city limits.
One of the city's nice green spaces is Donald L. Robertson Park. It's a great place for people to relax and play outdoors.
