Yannick Ferreira Carrasco (born on September 4, 1993) is a professional footballer from Belgium. He plays for the Saudi Pro League club Al-Shabab and is also a key player for the Belgium national team. Yannick is a very flexible player. He can play in different positions like a left midfielder, left wing-back, left winger, or left-back.

Carrasco started his football journey with Monaco. There, he scored 20 goals in 105 games. He helped Monaco win Ligue 2 in his first season and finish second in Ligue 1 the next year. In 2015, he moved to the Spanish team Atlético Madrid for about €20 million. He scored an important goal in the 2016 UEFA Champions League final, though Atlético lost the match. After playing for two years with Dalian Professional in China, Carrasco returned to Atlético in 2020. He helped them win a La Liga title before moving to Al-Shabab in 2023.

Yannick Carrasco first played for the Belgium national team in April 2015. He has represented his country in the UEFA European Championship in 2016, 2020, and 2024. He was also part of the team that finished third at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

He also has two younger half-siblings named Hugo and Celia. When he first started playing professionally, he was known as "Ferreira Carrasco." Later, he decided to use only "Carrasco." His mother's parents are from the Andalusia region in Spain. His grandmother is from Seville, and his grandfather is from Córdoba.

In 2017, Carrasco married Noémie Happart, who was a former Miss Belgium.

Playing for Clubs

Starting at Monaco

Carrasco joined Monaco from the Belgian club Genk in 2010. He played his first professional game on July 30, 2012. This was the first match of the Ligue 2 season against Tours. He scored the first goal in a 4–0 win with a free kick. On April 13, 2013, he scored both goals in a 2–0 league win against Auxerre. In his first season, he played 27 games and scored six goals. Monaco then earned promotion back to Ligue 1.

He scored his first goal in the top league on October 5, 2013, against Saint-Étienne. He helped Monaco win 2–1. Fifteen days later, he scored two goals in the first 10 minutes against Sochaux. That game ended in a 2–2 draw. Monaco finished their first season back in the top league as runners-up to Paris Saint-Germain.
