Young Harris is a small city in Towns County, Georgia, United States. In 2020, about 1,098 people lived there. The city is named after Young Harris College, which is a famous school located right in the city.

History of Young Harris
Young Harris used to be called "McTyeire." It was named after a person called Bishop Holland McTyeire. Later, the city's name changed to honor Judge Young Harris. He was a very helpful person who supported McTyeire Institute. This institute was also renamed Young Harris College.
The college first opened in 1886. Sharp Memorial United Methodist Church is on Main Street. It was built in 1949. This church became the new home for a group that used to meet in Susan B. Harris Chapel, built in 1892.
Main Street goes through Young Harris to Hiawassee and Blairsville. This road was paved in 1927.
Blue Ridge Mountain EMC is an electric company in Young Harris. It started in 1937. The company provides electricity to several counties in Georgia and North Carolina. Its main office was built in 1955. Blue Ridge Mountain EMC began offering internet service in 2002. In 2012, they moved to a new, larger office building. Today, the company has over 200 employees and serves 50,000 customers.
The Brasstown Valley Resort was built north of Young Harris in 1995. It cost $27 million to build. In 2012, a movie called Trouble with the Curve was partly filmed in Young Harris. Clint Eastwood was in this movie. In 2024, a special "moon tree" was planted in Young Harris.

Young Harris is located at 34°56′3″N 83°50′52″W / 34.93417°N 83.84778°W.
The city is where two main roads meet. These are U.S. Route 76/Georgia State Route 515 and Georgia State Route 66. U.S. 76 and GA-515 run through the middle of town. GA-515 then turns north. U.S. 76 goes east about 8 miles to Hiawassee. This is the main town for Towns County. U.S. 76 also goes southwest about 9 miles to Blairsville. GA-66 goes northwest from Young Harris about 5 miles to the border of Georgia and North Carolina.
The city covers about 1.0 square mile (2.6 square kilometers). All of this area is land.

- Zell Miller (1932–2018) was born and died in Young Harris. He was a very important person in Georgia politics. He served as the governor of Georgia and also as a U.S. Senator. He was even the mayor of Young Harris from 1959 to 1960.
- Ed Jenkins (1933–2012) was also born in Young Harris. He was a politician who represented Georgia in the United States House of Representatives.
