Yuta Nakamoto (born October 26, 1995), known simply as Yuta, is a Japanese singer, actor, dancer, and radio host. He is famous for being part of the South Korean boy group NCT. Yuta first joined NCT's sub-unit NCT 127 in 2016. Later, in 2020, he also became part of another NCT sub-unit, NCT U. In October 2024, Yuta released his first solo music, an extended play (EP) called Depth.

Early Life and Dreams
Yuta was born in Kadoma, Osaka, Japan, on October 26, 1995. He has two sisters, one older and one younger. He went to Yashima Gakuen University International High School. Yuta loved playing soccer from when he was five until he was 16. He even dreamed of becoming a professional soccer player! However, he later decided to follow a different path and become an idol.
Yuta's Journey to Stardom
Starting as a Trainee (2011–2015)
Yuta became interested in being an idol in 2011 after watching the group TVXQ on TV. Even though he had no singing or dancing experience, he tried out for many auditions. In 2012, he secretly auditioned for SM Entertainment, a big music company. Out of 10,000 people, only three passed, and Yuta was one of them!
When he was 16, Yuta spent a month training in Seoul, South Korea. In December 2013, he was introduced as a member of SM Rookies. This was a special group for trainees who were getting ready to debut as idols. As part of SM Rookies, Yuta appeared on TV shows. In 2014, he was on Exo 90:2014, where he danced to old K-pop songs. In 2015, he was a Japanese representative on the show Abnormal Summit, where people from different countries discussed Korean culture. He left the show to focus on his debut.
Debuting with NCT 127 (2016–2019)
Yuta was part of NCT's reality show, NCT Life, which showed their journey before debut. On July 2, 2016, Yuta was announced as a member of NCT 127. This is a special sub-unit of the group NCT. They officially debuted with their song "Fire Truck" on July 6, 2016. Soon after, they released their first mini-album, NCT #127. Yuta also appeared on the TV show Idol Party and hosted a special sports event called Idol Star Athletics Championships.
New Adventures: NCT 2020, Radio, and Acting (2020–2023)
In 2020, NCT released a big album called NCT 2020 Resonance. Yuta sang on several songs from this album. In November 2020, Yuta started hosting his own weekly radio show called NCT 127 YUTA at Home in Japan. This show became very popular and continued as a regular program.
Since 2021, Yuta has been featured in many Japanese magazines like GQ Japan and Elle Japan. He also worked with the brand Tom Ford. In September 2022, Yuta made his acting debut in the movie High&Low The Worst X (Cross). In October 2022, he was recognized on Forbes Japan's 30 Under 30 list, which highlights young successful people. In March 2023, it was announced that he would star in a TV show called Play It Cool, Guys.
Solo Debut (2024)
On August 5, 2024, it was announced that Yuta would release his first solo EP called Depth. The EP was available digitally on October 3, and the music video for its main song, "Off The Mask," was also released. Yuta then started his solo debut tour, YUTA Solo Debut Showcase Tour ~ HOPE ~. He performed in five cities across Japan, ending in his hometown of Kadoma, Osaka. To celebrate his solo debut, he also released a photobook called Now.
