Career Highlights
Ghost Adventures TV Show
In 2004, Zak Bagans worked with Nick Groff and Aaron Goodwin. They made a documentary film called Ghost Adventures. This film was shown on the Sci-Fi Channel in 2007.
A TV series based on the film started in 2008. It aired on the Travel Channel. As of 2019, the show had 19 seasons. Shows about Ghost hunting often get questions about whether they are real. Ghost Adventures has also faced these questions.
One interesting claim from the show involves a recording. Bagans said he recorded the voice of actor David Strickland. Strickland passed away in 1999. Bagans claimed to have recorded his voice almost ten years later. This recording was part of a song on an album called NecroFusion.
The Haunted Museum
On April 2, 2016, a show called Deadly Possessions started on the Travel Channel. This show featured Bagans looking for items for a "haunted museum." This museum was planned for Las Vegas, Nevada.
The museum opened to the public in October 2017. It has 33 rooms filled with different artifacts. Visitors can take guided tours through these rooms. Some items on display include a mirror said to belong to Bela Lugosi. There is also the Dybbuk box and Peggy the Doll. Another item is Jack Kevorkian's "Death Van."
Some of the stories about these items have been questioned. For example, the history of the Lugosi mirror and a mirror from Captain Smith has been debated. Before entering, all visitors must sign papers. These papers say the museum is not responsible for any "spiritual or paranormal interactions."
In May 2019, an exhibit with a rocking chair from a famous haunting case from Connecticut was temporarily closed. This happened after a visitor fainted. The exhibit reopened in June. In 2018, the museum received an award from the Las Vegas Mayor. This award was for preserving history and reusing old buildings. In 2021, a part from actor James Dean's Porsche 550 Spyder car was added to the museum's collection.
The Haunted Museum TV Series
In May 2021, the Discovery+ Channel announced a new show. It was a horror story series called The Haunted Museum. Zak Bagans is the host and an executive producer for this show. The series is filmed in Las Vegas, Nevada, and Toronto, Canada.
