Zaraah Clover Abrahams (born 7 January 1987) is an English actress and voiceover artist. She is famous for her roles in popular TV shows. These include Magda in Girls in Love and Michaela White in Waterloo Road. She also played Joanne Jackson in Coronation Street. Since 2020, she has played Chelsea Fox in EastEnders. Zaraah also showed her skating skills on the TV show Dancing on Ice.

Early life and first steps in acting

Zaraah Abrahams was born in Lambeth, London, England. Her family background is from Iraq, Barbados, and Jamaica. She grew up in Brixton, a part of South London. Zaraah is the oldest of three children.

She went to a special performing arts school called the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts. While she was still a student there, she got her first big acting role. This was playing Magda in the TV show Girls in Love. When she was 17, Zaraah moved to Manchester. She did this to start her acting career, as she had landed a role in Coronation Street.

Zaraah Abrahams began her career starring as Magda in the CITV show Girls in Love. She then joined the cast of the popular ITV soap opera Coronation Street. In this show, she played the character of Joanne Jackson.

In 2008, Zaraah became part of the cast for the school drama Waterloo Road. She played the student Michaela White. Her character became a main part of the show for its fourth and fifth series. She left the show at the end of the fifth series in 2010. In 2013, she starred in a short film called Black Girl in Paris. This film was shown on HBO and was nominated for an award.

In 2008, Zaraah also took part in the celebrity ice skating show Dancing on Ice. She joined the show as a replacement for another injured celebrity. She and her skating partner, Fred Palascak, finished in third place. She returned to Dancing on Ice for an All-Star series in 2014. In 2015, Zaraah moved to New York City. There, she filmed an American TV drama called The Knick. This show was about a hospital in the early 1900s. She played the role of Opal.

In October 2020, it was announced that Zaraah would join the cast of the BBC soap opera EastEnders. She took over the role of Chelsea Fox. Her first episode as Chelsea was shown on Christmas Day in 2020.
