Zarateana arganica is a type of air-breathing land snail. It's a small mollusk that lives on land and belongs to the family Geomitridae.

Where Does Zarateana arganica Live?
This special snail only lives in mainland Spain. You can find it in the northern part of the Iberian Peninsula. Its home stretches from northwest Huesca to north Burgos. This area is a mix of the green, wet forests of "Green Spain" and drier Mediterranean regions.
What Does Zarateana arganica Look Like?
The shell of Zarateana arganica is a grayish-white color. It often has brown bands that look a bit like horn. The shell is shiny and has very fine lines on it. When the shells are fresh, they even have tiny hair-like structures!

The shell has several whorls, which are like spirals. These whorls are slightly rounded. The last whorl (the biggest one) isn't much wider than the ones before it.
