Héctor Juan Pedro Bosio (born October 1, 1958), known as Zeta Bosio, is a famous musician from Argentina. He is a record producer and a DJ. Zeta is best known as the bassist for the rock band Soda Stereo.

He also played bass for the Chilean band La Ley from 2013 to 2014. Today, he is part of the band Shoot the Radio, which he helped start.

Zeta Bosio, along with Gustavo Cerati and Charly Alberti, formed Soda Stereo in 1982. They made many records before the band broke up in 1997. After that, Zeta worked behind the scenes for a while. He used a music website called ProyectoUnder.com to help new bands. Zeta also runs his own record label, Alerta Discos. He has produced albums for bands like "Aguirre" and "Peligrosos Gorriones." He even hosted a TV show called "Rock Road" for Much Music Argentina. In 2011, he was a judge on the TV show Factor X in Chile.

About Zeta Bosio

Early Musical Journey

Zeta Bosio started loving music when he was 11 years old. He heard The Beatles and decided he wanted to play the bass guitar.

While in school, he formed two bands: "Water" and "La Banda de San Francisco." Later, he joined the navy. With his first paycheck, he bought a bass guitar in Puerto Rico. In the army, he played in the orchestra. This helped him get even better at music. He played all kinds of songs, from salsa to Arabic music.

When he returned to Buenos Aires, he studied advertising at a university. He joined a band called "The Morgan." Other musicians in this band included Gustavo Cerati, who would later become his bandmate. They played on a TV show called "Happy Sunday." The Morgan released one song called "Perfume."

Forming Soda Stereo

In 1979, Zeta met Gustavo Cerati at college. But they didn't become close friends right away. In the summer of 1982, they met again in Punta del Este in Uruguay. Cerati was with his group Sauvage, and Bosio was with The Morgan. After some adventures, Cerati and Bosio became good friends and decided to play music together.

Zeta and Gustavo liked the same kind of music. They wanted to start a punk rock group. They were inspired by The Police, who played in Argentina that same year. They wanted to write their own songs in Spanish. Cerati first joined The Morgan. Then he formed other bands like Stress and Erekto Project.

Soon after, Gustavo and Zeta decided to visit Charly Alberti. Charly was the son of a famous drummer, Tito Alberti. Charly was a few years younger than Zeta and Gustavo. They wanted to hear him play his father's drums. That's how Soda Stereo was formed! The band played their first show in July 1983.

In Soda Stereo, Zeta played the bass guitar. He also sang backing vocals. Sometimes, he played acoustic guitar and the chapman stick.

After Soda Stereo

Soda Stereo broke up in September 1997. After that, Zeta worked with other groups. He first helped bands through the Under Project website. Then he worked as a manager for Sony Music Argentina. In recent years, he has worked with Alert Discos.

From 2005 to 2007, Zeta hosted a TV show called "Rock Road." It was on the Argentine channel Much Music.

He also played bass for the Argentine band Catupecu Machu. He helped them after their bassist, Gabriel Ruiz Diaz, had a car accident.

In June 2007, Soda Stereo announced they would get back together for a tour. Between October and December of that year, Zeta Bosio and Soda Stereo played across Latin America. This tour was called Me Verás Volver.

In 2008, Zeta and his bandmates went back to their own projects. Zeta hosted a show called Keep Rockin on Radio Rock & Pop. He also toured as a DJ, playing in different parts of Latin America. These shows were called Live Sessions. Zeta loves electronic music and dance music. He plans to release his own album with his mixes and songs.

Zeta also played at the Lollapalooza festival in Chile in April 2011. This was the first time the festival was held outside the US.

In 2013, Zeta joined the Chilean band La Ley as their bassist.
