Zordon is a made-up character from the Power Rangers show. He is like a wise teacher or guide for the Power Rangers. Zordon first appeared in the very first season of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. He was a key character until the end of Power Rangers in Space.

Zordon's Story
Ten thousand years ago, Zordon fought his enemy, Rita Repulsa, on Earth. During their last battle, Rita trapped Zordon in a special time prison. Zordon then locked Rita and her helpers in a "Dumpster" on the Moon.
After the fight, Zordon built a secret Command Center. It was in the California desert near a town called Angel Grove. His robot friend, Alpha 5, helped him. Zordon then made the Power Morphers, Power Coins, and Dinozords.
When Rita Repulsa escaped from her prison, Zordon chose five teenagers from Angel Grove. Their names were Jason Lee Scott, Zack Taylor, Kimberly Hart, Trini Kwan, and Billy Cranston. He gave them the Power Morphers, Power Coins, and Dinozords. This made them the first Power Rangers, ready to fight Rita.
Zordon guided the Rangers for many years. He helped them get new powers, like Zeo and Turbo. These powers helped them fight new bad guys. These included the Machine Empire and Divatox. Over time, Zordon also made his Command Center stronger. It became the Power Chamber and then the Turbo Chamber.
Zordon and Alpha later left Earth to go back to Zordon's home planet, Eltar. They left the Turbo Rangers with new guides, Dimitria and Alpha 6. But Zordon came back for a short time. He saw the Turbo powers being passed to new Rangers.
Months after he left, a powerful villain named Dark Specter captured Zordon. Dark Specter slowly took away Zordon's powers. The former Turbo Rangers became the Space Rangers. They tried to find and save Zordon.
Soon, Dark Specter started to take over the whole universe. He moved Zordon to the Dark Fortress. This was the base of another villain named Astronema. After Dark Specter was defeated, Andros, the Red Space Ranger, found Zordon. Zordon told Andros to break his energy tube. This would release his good energy to destroy all evil forces. Zordon's sacrifice created a huge energy wave. It traveled across the universe. This wave turned villains like Lord Zedd, Rita, and Divatox back into humans. It also changed Astronema back into her good self, Karone. Other villains just turned into sand.
Zordon in Movies
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie (1995)
In the 1995 film, Lord Zedd and Rita Repulsa freed a villain named Ivan Ooze. Ivan Ooze destroyed the Command Center. He also broke Zordon's energy tube. This left Zordon very close to dying.
With Zordon dying, the Rangers traveled to a planet called Phaedos. They needed to find a special "Great Power" there. This power would help bring Zordon back to life. The Rangers found the power with the help of a guide named Dulcea. They returned to Earth and defeated Ivan Ooze.
When they got back to the Command Center, Zordon had died. The Rangers then used the Great Power. They fixed the Command Center and brought Zordon back to life.
Power Rangers (2017 film)
Bryan Cranston played Zordon in the 2017 film. His character was made using a mix of motion capture and computer graphics. In this movie, Zordon was once the Red Ranger. His body was destroyed by a meteor he used to stop the evil Green Ranger, Rita Repulsa. He became part of the Morphing Grid, a special energy network.
Thousands of years later, new Rangers were brought together by Power Coins. They needed to stop the revived Rita. Jason, the new Red Ranger, realized something. Zordon wanted to use the Rangers' new powers to get his body back. Jason thought Zordon was just using them for himself.
However, Rita later drowned Billy Cranston, the Blue Ranger. The other four Rangers then showed they would die for each other. This act of teamwork triggered the special energy Zordon expected. But Zordon chose to give up his chance to get his body back. Instead, he used the energy to bring Billy back to life. He knew that this new team was special just as they were. After Rita was defeated, Zordon praised the Rangers. He told them their names would be remembered as great Rangers.
