1. Wiener Neustädter Sportclub is a football club from Wiener Neustadt, a city in Austria. They play exciting football games!
The Club's Story
The club started as FC Magna Wiener Neustadt. They got to play in the First League because another team, SC Schwanenstadt, had money problems and couldn't play anymore. Magna took their spot!
On May 19, 2008, a businessman named Frank Stronach became the club's president. He is the person who started a big company called Magna International.
The team played their very first league game on July 12, 2008. They played against FC Wacker Innsbruck and lost 0–3. But don't worry, the rest of that season was much better! They even won the Austrian First League championship. This win meant they moved up to play in the top league, the Austrian Bundesliga.
Later in 2008, the original 1. Wiener Neustädter SC team decided to join with FC Magna. To honor the older club's history, FC Magna changed its name to SC Magna Wiener Neustadt on July 1, 2009. In 2010, Magna also started working together with another club, SK Sturm Graz.
