Changes in Leadership
In Japan, a big change happened. Emperor Tsuchimikado finished his time as the ruler. Soon after, Emperor Juntoku became the new emperor of Japan. This meant a new leader for the country.
In Europe, Otto IV, Holy Roman Emperor, who was a powerful ruler, had problems with the church. He was excommunicated by Pope Innocent III. This means the Pope officially removed him from the church. This happened because Otto IV had invaded southern Italy in 1210.
New Empires and Campaigns
The year 1210 also marked the start of the Delhi Sultanate. This was a new and powerful kingdom in India, ruled by a leader called a Sultan. It became a very important part of Indian history.
Far to the east, Jochi, who was the oldest son of the famous leader Genghis Khan, led a military campaign. His Mongol forces fought against the Kyrgyz people. This was part of the Mongol Empire's expansion.

Around this time, a writer named Gottfried von Strassburg created a very long and important poem. It was called Tristan. This epic poem told a famous story and is still known today.
