Major Events of 1238
The Battle of the Sit River
In 1238, a huge battle took place in what is now northern Russia. It was called the Battle of the Sit River. The powerful Mongol army, led by Batu Khan, fought against the Russian forces. The Russian leader, Yuri II of Vladimir, sadly died in this battle. This was a major event during the Mongol invasion of Russia.
Spain: Valencia Captured
