Battle of Legnica
- April 5 – A major battle happened near Legnica (which was also called Liegnitz). Here, the Mongols, led by General Subutai, fought against the Polish nobility. The Polish nobility were the rich and powerful families who ruled parts of Poland. Some brave Knights Templar, who were a group of warrior monks, also joined the Polish forces. Sadly, the Mongols won this battle, showing how strong their army was.
Battle of Mohi
- April 27 – Later in the month, the Mongols faced another big army. This time, they fought against the forces of King Béla IV of Hungary. This battle took place near the Sajó River in Hungary.
