Adlan's Early Life and Training

Adlan Amagov grew up in a village called Sernovodsk in Chechnya. When he was eight years old in 1994, his school was destroyed. He later moved to Moscow, where he started training in Combat Sambo. He trained with famous fighters like Fedor Emelianenko and Alexander Emelianenko. In June 2007, Adlan decided to start his career in mixed martial arts.

Adlan's Mixed Martial Arts Journey

Starting His Career

Adlan Amagov had his first professional mixed martial arts fight in Russia in November 2007. He lost his first fight, but he quickly got a record of 8 wins, 1 loss, and 1 draw. Most of these early fights were in the ProFC promotion. Adlan's brothers, Musa Amagov and Beslan Amagov, are also professional MMA fighters.

In 2010, Adlan became well-known when a video of him knocking out Maskhat Akhmetov with a spinning hook kick went viral. Many people on MMA websites and news sites watched it.

Fighting in Strikeforce

In the summer of 2011, Adlan Amagov joined Zuffa, a big fighting company. He made his first fight in the U.S. at Strikeforce Challengers: Bowling vs. Voelker III against Ron Stallings. Adlan won this fight by a split decision.

He continued his success in Strikeforce. He defeated Anthony Smith by knockout in the first round at Strikeforce Challengers: Britt vs. Sayers.

After these two wins, Adlan fought on a main event card at Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Jardine on January 7, 2012. He faced former EliteXC Middleweight Champion Robbie Lawler. Adlan lost this fight early in the first round.

Adlan returned to Strikeforce on August 18, 2012, at Strikeforce: Rousey vs. Kaufman. He fought Keith Berry and won by TKO in the first round.
