Adlan Mairbekovich Amagov (Russian: Адлан Майрбекович Амагов) was born on October 30, 1986. He is a former Russian mixed martial artist and kickboxer. He competed in the welterweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Adlan was a professional fighter from 2007 to 2016. He also fought for Strikeforce and was a Unifight World Champion.

Adlan's Early Life and Training
Adlan Amagov grew up in a village called Sernovodsk in Chechnya. When he was eight years old in 1994, his school was destroyed. He later moved to Moscow, where he started training in Combat Sambo. He trained with famous fighters like Fedor Emelianenko and Alexander Emelianenko. In June 2007, Adlan decided to start his career in mixed martial arts.

Starting His Career
Adlan Amagov had his first professional mixed martial arts fight in Russia in November 2007. He lost his first fight, but he quickly got a record of 8 wins, 1 loss, and 1 draw. Most of these early fights were in the ProFC promotion. Adlan's brothers, Musa Amagov and Beslan Amagov, are also professional MMA fighters.
In 2010, Adlan became well-known when a video of him knocking out Maskhat Akhmetov with a spinning hook kick went viral. Many people on MMA websites and news sites watched it.
Fighting in Strikeforce
In the summer of 2011, Adlan Amagov joined Zuffa, a big fighting company. He made his first fight in the U.S. at Strikeforce Challengers: Bowling vs. Voelker III against Ron Stallings. Adlan won this fight by a split decision.
He continued his success in Strikeforce. He defeated Anthony Smith by knockout in the first round at Strikeforce Challengers: Britt vs. Sayers.
After these two wins, Adlan fought on a main event card at Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Jardine on January 7, 2012. He faced former EliteXC Middleweight Champion Robbie Lawler. Adlan lost this fight early in the first round.
Adlan returned to Strikeforce on August 18, 2012, at Strikeforce: Rousey vs. Kaufman. He fought Keith Berry and won by TKO in the first round.
Joining the UFC
On January 19, 2013, it was announced that Adlan Amagov had signed to fight for the UFC.
Adlan made his UFC debut in the welterweight division. He fought Chris Spång on April 6, 2013, at UFC on Fuel TV 9. Adlan controlled the fight and won by a unanimous decision.
Adlan then faced TJ Waldburger on October 19, 2013, at UFC 166. He won this fight by knockout in the first round.
He was supposed to fight Jason High on January 15, 2014, but Adlan had to pull out because of an injury. After being away from the sport for over a year, it was reported that Adlan was not interested in returning to MMA. He wanted to spend time watching his children grow up and was tired of cutting weight for fights.
Return to MMA
In August 2016, it was announced that Adlan Amagov would return to MMA. He fought Jungle Fight champion Dirlei Broenstrup on August 21, 2016, in Russia. Adlan won the fight by submission in the first round.
