Adlan Mairbekovich Amagov, born on October 30, 1986, is a former professional mixed martial artist and kickboxer from Russia. He competed in the welterweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Before joining the UFC, Amagov also fought in Strikeforce. He is also a former Unifight World Champion.

Adlan Amagov's Journey
Early Life and Training
Adlan Amagov grew up in a small village called Sernovodsk in Chechnya. When he was eight years old in 1994, his school was destroyed due to conflict. Later, he moved to Moscow.
In Moscow, he started training in Combat Sambo, a type of martial art. He trained with famous fighters like Fedor Emelianenko and Alexander Emelianenko. In June 2007, Adlan decided to switch to mixed martial arts (MMA).
Starting His MMA Career
Adlan Amagov had his first professional MMA fight in Russia in November 2007. He lost his first fight, but quickly improved. He built a strong record of 8 wins, 1 loss, and 1 draw. Most of these early fights were in the ProFC promotion.
His brothers, Musa Amagov and Beslan Amagov, are also professional MMA fighters. Adlan became well-known in 2010. A video of him knocking out an opponent with a spinning hook kick went viral online.
Fighting in Strikeforce
In the summer of 2011, Adlan Amagov joined Zuffa, a major MMA company. He made his debut in the United States at a Strikeforce Challengers event. He won his first fight against Ron Stallings by a split decision.
Adlan continued his success in Strikeforce. He defeated veteran fighter Anthony Smith with a knockout in the first round. This win happened at another Strikeforce Challengers event.
After these two wins, Amagov fought on a main card at Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Jardine in January 2012. He faced Robbie Lawler, a former champion. Adlan lost this fight in the first round.
He returned to Strikeforce in August 2012. He fought Keith Berry and won quickly in the first round. He used a side kick to the knee and punches to get the victory.
Joining the UFC
On January 19, 2013, it was announced that Adlan Amagov would join the UFC. This is the biggest MMA promotion in the world.
He made his UFC debut as a welterweight fighter. He fought Chris Spång in April 2013. Amagov showed his skill and won the fight by a unanimous decision.
Amagov then faced TJ Waldburger in October 2013 at UFC 166. He won this fight by knockout in the first round. This was another impressive victory for him.
Adlan was scheduled to fight Jason High in January 2014. However, he had to pull out of the fight because of an injury. After this, he took a long break from the sport. Reports said he wanted to spend more time with his children.
Return to the Ring
In August 2016, Adlan Amagov announced his return to MMA. He fought Dirlei Broenstrup in Russia. Amagov won the fight in the first round by submission.
