Discover the History of Admire
Admire was founded in 1886. It was named after one of its founders, a person named Jacob Admire.
The first post office in Admire opened in November 1886. This allowed people to send and receive mail.
Admire used to be a stop for the Missouri Pacific Railroad. Trains would pick up and drop off goods here. Today, the old train tracks are no longer used by trains. Instead, they have been turned into a rail trail, which is a path for walking or biking.
The city has a mayor who helps lead the community. As of early 2024, Donna Uhl is the acting mayor of Admire.
