Al-Ahly Sports Cultural and Social Club, often called Al-Ahly SCSC, is a well-known Libyan sports club from Benghazi. This club is famous for its football team. It was officially started as a professional football club in 1947, but it had been around for some years before that.

History of Al-Ahly Benghazi

Al-Ahly SC Libya became a professional football club in 1947. Even before that, the club had connections to a group called the Omar al Mukhtar society.

In the year 2000, the club faced a big challenge. Its main building and training area were taken down. This event caused the loss of many club records, trophies, and medals. The club was then not allowed to play for a few years, until 2005.

The club was later given a large piece of land, about 77 acres (or 310,000 square meters), for a new stadium. However, building on this land has been difficult because of the high costs.

Club Crest

You might notice that Al-Ahly SC (Benghazi) has a star on its logo. This is special because it's the only club in Libya to have a star before winning 10 league titles!
