Alex Aiono (born February 16, 1996) is a talented American singer and actor. He grew up in Phoenix, Arizona. Alex is super popular on YouTube, where his videos have been watched over 1 billion times! He also has more than six million followers across his social media pages.
Alex first became known for his "flipped" versions of popular songs. He would take a song and change it up in his own unique way. One of his most famous "flips" was a mash-up of "One Dance" and "Hasta el Amanecer," which has over 67 million views.
He released his first song with a big record label, Interscope Records, called "Work the Middle" in February 2017. He then released "Question" and "Does It Feel Like Falling." Alex released his first album, The Gospel at 23, in July 2020. You might also know him from the Netflix movie Finding ʻOhana.

Alex Aiono's Journey to Stardom
Alex Aiono started his music journey early. He released his first song, "Doesn't Get Better," in March 2013. Later that year, he released his first collection of songs, called an EP, titled Young & Foolish. He even wrote the title song with the famous singer John Legend, who is one of Alex's biggest inspirations.
YouTube Success and Viral Videos
In 2016, Alex really started to shine on YouTube with his "flipped" songs. His mash-up of Drake's "One Dance" and Nicky Jam's "Hasta el Amanecer" showed off his amazing singing, guitar skills, and fun personality. This video quickly became a huge hit!
He also teamed up with singer Conor Maynard for a "sing-off" video in October 2016. This video was released on Conor's YouTube channel and has been watched over 88 million times. These videos helped Alex gain a massive following online.
Signing with a Record Label
Because of his growing popularity, Alex signed with Interscope Records in early 2017. This is a big record label that helps artists release their music. His first song with them was "Work the Middle," released in January 2017. Alex also sang a cover of "Man in the Mirror" for The Lego Batman Movie in 2017. By 2019, he was signed to Become Records.
Recent Music and Acting Roles
In 2020, Alex released his first full album, The Gospel at 23. He also made a short documentary about how he created the album. That same year, he released another EP called "Covered (Volume 2)" and several new songs like "The Medicine" and "I Miss You."
Alex has also become a successful actor. In September 2019, Netflix announced he would star in the 2021 movie Finding ʻOhana. In this film, he played the character Ioane. In September 2021, Alex also started a recurring role in the Disney+ show, Doogie Kameāloha, M.D., where he plays Walter Taumata. He has continued to act in other shows and movies since then.

Alex Aiono's Life Story
Alex Aiono and his family moved from Phoenix, Arizona, to Los Angeles when he was 14 years old. This move was so he could chase his dream of becoming a music star. They lived in a small apartment while Alex started making connections in the music world. He would perform on the Santa Monica promenade, which is where he met one of his managers.
Alex's mom is of European American background. His dad has Samoan and Māori heritage. His dad grew up in Tolaga Bay, New Zealand, before moving to the United States. Alex is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
