Alex Aiono, whose full name is Martin Alexander Aiono, was born on February 16, 1996. He is an American singer and actor from Phoenix, Arizona. Alex is very well-known for his videos on YouTube.
His YouTube videos have been watched over a billion times! He also has more than six million followers on social media.
Alex became famous for his special "flipped" versions of popular songs. He would mix them up or sing them in his own unique style. One of his most popular videos is a mash-up of "One Dance" and "Hasta el Amanecer." This video has over 67 million views.
In 2017, Alex released his first official songs, like "Work the Middle" and "Question." He released his first album, The Gospel at 23, in 2020. Alex also starred in the Netflix movie Finding ʻOhana.

Alex Aiono's Music Journey
Starting Out in Music
Alex Aiono released his very first song, "Doesn't Get Better," on March 15, 2013. Later that year, he released his first collection of songs, called an EP, titled Young & Foolish.
The main song from that EP was co-written with the famous singer John Legend. Alex has said that John Legend is one of his biggest inspirations. They have even written two songs together!
Becoming a YouTube Star
In 2016, Alex started making his popular "flipped" versions of songs. He would take two different songs and blend them together. One famous example is his mashup of Drake's "One Dance" and Nicky Jam's "Hasta el Amanecer."
This video showed off Alex's amazing singing voice and his guitar skills. It quickly gained over 67 million views on YouTube. In 2016, Alex also teamed up with singer Conor Maynard for a "sing-off" video. This video was released on Conor's YouTube channel and has been watched over 88 million times.
Signing with a Record Label
In early 2017, Alex Aiono signed with Interscope Records. This is a big record label that is part of Universal Music Group. On January 27, 2017, he released his song "Work the Middle."
This song was produced by talented music producers Axident and Dernst "D'Mile" Emile II. Alex also sang a cover of "Man in the Mirror" for The Lego Batman Movie in 2017. By 2019, Alex had signed with Become Records.
Albums and More Songs
In 2020, Alex released his first full album, The Gospel at 23. He also released a short film about how he made the album, called "The Making of The Gospel at 23 | Short Documentary."
That same year, he released another EP called "Covered (Volume 2)." He also put out several new songs, including "The Medicine," "2 Kids," "Filling Shoes," "I Miss You," and "Another Life."

Alex Aiono's Personal Life
Alex Aiono and his family moved from Phoenix, Arizona, to Los Angeles when he was 14. This move was so he could follow his dream of becoming a musician. They lived in a small apartment.
Alex started performing on the Santa Monica promenade to make connections in the music world. This is where he met one of his managers. His mother is of European American background. His father is of Samoan and Māori descent. His father grew up in Tolaga Bay, New Zealand, before moving to the United States. Alex is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
