Alexandros Emeka "Alex" Antetokounmpo (born August 27, 2001) is a professional basketball player. He is from both Nigeria and Greece. Alex recently played for PAOK in the Greek Basketball League. He is the youngest brother of famous basketball players Giannis, Thanasis, and Kostas.

Early Life and Basketball Start
Alex Antetokounmpo was born in Athens, Greece. His parents, Veronica and Charles Antetokounmpo, were from Nigeria. In June 2013, Alex received a Nigerian passport. This helped him get a visa to enter the United States. In September 2021, he also became a Greek citizen, along with his mother.
Alex started playing basketball when he was nine years old. When he was in sixth grade, his family moved to Cudahy, Wisconsin. This was close to where his older brother Giannis was getting ready to play for the Milwaukee Bucks in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Before high school, Alex moved to River Hills, Wisconsin. He went to Dominican High School in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin.
High School Basketball Career
Alex played basketball for Dominican High School for four years. As a freshman, he scored about 2.9 points per game. By his second year, he had grown about 12 centimeters (five inches). He became 2.03 meters (6 feet 8 inches) tall.
Alex was chosen for the all-state team twice. In his senior year, he averaged 20 points and seven rebounds per game. He received offers to play college basketball from schools like DePaul and Ohio. However, on May 9, 2020, Alex decided to play basketball in Europe after high school instead of going to college.
Professional Basketball Journey
Playing for UCAM Murcia (2020–2021)
On June 22, 2020, Alex signed a three-year contract with UCAM Murcia in Spain. On October 18, he played his first game for the team's reserve squad. He scored 28 points and grabbed six rebounds. He also made six out of nine three-point shots. His team won the game 83–69.
Time with Raptors 905 (2021–2022)
Alex was not chosen in the 2021 NBA draft. However, he joined the Sacramento Kings for the 2021 NBA Summer League. The Sacramento Kings ended up winning the Summer League that year. On October 14, 2021, Alex signed a contract with the Toronto Raptors. But he was waived the next day. This allowed him to join the Raptors 905, which is a team connected to the Raptors.
Playing for Wisconsin Herd (2022–2024)
On November 3, 2022, Alex was added to the roster for the Wisconsin Herd. This team plays in the NBA G League.
On August 31, 2023, Alex signed with the Milwaukee Bucks. However, he was waived the same day. On October 30, he rejoined the Wisconsin Herd. He played for the Herd until February 8, 2024, when he was waived by the team.
Short Stays in Europe (2024)
On February 13, 2024, Alex signed with M Basket-Delamode Mažeikiai in the Lithuanian Basketball League.
In August 2024, Alex signed with Podgorica in Montenegro. He played only five games for this team.
Joining PAOK (2024–2025)
On October 22, 2024, Alex Antetokounmpo signed with PAOK Thessaloniki. This team plays in the Greek Basketball League.
Family and Achievements
Alex has three older brothers who are also professional basketball players: Giannis, Thanasis, and Kostas. All three of them have won NBA championships.
- Giannis was named the NBA Most Valuable Player in both 2019 and 2020.
- Thanasis and Giannis won the NBA championship in 2021 with the Milwaukee Bucks. Giannis was also named the Finals MVP that year.
- Kostas last played for the Chicago Bulls. He won an NBA title with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020.
Alex's father and his oldest brother, Francis, played football in Nigeria. His mother was a high jumper. In September 2021, Alex and his mother were given honorary Greek citizenship. This was presented by the Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
Alex, along with hockey player Filip Forsberg and his three older brothers, joined the ownership group of Nashville SC. This is a soccer team in the MLS.
