The Village of Ames is in the southern part of the Town of Canajoharie. It is also south of the Village of Canajoharie. Ames is actually one of the tiniest villages in all of New York State!

History of Ames
Ames has a unique history. While many nearby places were settled by German families, Ames was founded by pioneers from New England around 1779. It officially became a village in 1924.
The historic Ames Academy Building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2002. This means it's a special place worth protecting!
