Andre Dyson, born on May 25, 1979, is an American football coach and former player. He is currently the cornerbacks coach for Weber State University. Before becoming a coach, he played professionally as a cornerback in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Utah Utes. The Tennessee Titans picked him in the second round of the 2001 NFL draft.

Early Life and High School Sports

Andre Dyson was born in Las Vegas, Nevada. He spent most of his childhood in Clinton, Utah. He went to West Clinton Elementary School and Syracuse Junior High School. Later, he attended Clearfield High School.

While at Clearfield, Andre was a talented athlete. He played football, soccer, and basketball. In football, he was named the team's best defensive player in his senior year. He also earned All-Region, All-Area, and All-State honors. In soccer, he was a second-team All-State player.

Playing in the NFL

Andre Dyson played as a cornerback in the NFL. He was known for making big plays. In 2005, he had an amazing game while playing for the Seattle Seahawks. He was even named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week.

During that game, he scored two touchdowns! He returned an intercepted pass 72 yards for a touchdown. He also picked up a fumbled ball and ran it 25 yards for another touchdown. This helped the Seahawks win 42-0 against the Philadelphia Eagles. After playing for the Seahawks, he joined the New York Jets. The Jets released him in February 2008.

Coaching Career

After his playing career, Andre Dyson became a football coach.

Coaching at Weber State

In 2009, Andre Dyson started coaching at Weber State. He worked as an assistant coach there until 2011. In 2021, he returned to Weber State. He is now the cornerbacks coach for the team.

Coaching High School Football

In 2012, Andre Dyson became the defensive coordinator for Weber High School. He helped lead their defense.

In 2014, he took on a new role. He became the head football coach for Clearfield High School. He coached there for several years. He left the head coach position after the 2020 season.

Personal Life

Andre Dyson has an older brother named Kevin Dyson. Kevin also played in the NFL as a wide receiver. He was even Andre's teammate on the Tennessee Titans for a while. They made history together! They were the first brothers in NFL history to score touchdowns in the same game.
