Andre Anthony Gray, born on June 26, 1991, is a professional football player. He plays as a striker for Fatih Karagümrük. Although born in England, he plays for the Jamaica national team.
Gray became well-known after scoring 57 goals in 111 games for Luton Town over two seasons. He also played six times for the England C team between 2012 and 2014. In March 2021, he was called up to the Jamaican national team and made his first appearance.

Andre Gray's Football Journey
Starting Out at Shrewsbury Town
Andre Gray began his football journey in the academy of his hometown club, Wolverhampton Wanderers. He was released when he was 13 years old. In 2004, Gray joined the youth system at Shrewsbury Town. He signed his first professional contract with them in 2009.
He made his first team debut on the opening day of the 2009–10 season. Gray came on as a substitute in a 3–1 win against Burton Albion. He made four more appearances for the club that season. Gray left Shrewsbury in May 2010, having played only five games.
Loan Spells and Hinckley United
In November 2009, Gray joined Conference North club AFC Telford United on a one-month loan. He scored his first goal for the club against Stafford Rangers. He played six games for Telford, scoring once.
Gray then joined Hinckley United on loan in March 2010. He played five games for them without scoring. In June 2010, Gray signed a permanent contract with Hinckley United. He scored his first goal for them in September 2010.
During the 2010–11 season, Gray scored 14 goals in 35 games. He continued his good form in the 2011–12 season, scoring 23 goals in 45 appearances. His impressive goal-scoring caught the attention of bigger clubs. Gray left Hinckley in 2012, having scored 37 goals in 85 games across his two spells.
Success at Luton Town

On March 22, 2012, Gray joined Luton Town on loan. He made an immediate impact, scoring in his first four matches. This made him the only player in Luton Town's history to score in his first four games. He helped Luton reach the play-off final at Wembley Stadium, where he scored a goal. In total, he scored seven goals in 12 loan appearances.
After his successful loan, Gray signed a two-year contract with Luton for £30,000. In the 2012–13 season, he scored 20 goals in 54 games. He played a key role in Luton's exciting FA Cup run. They famously beat his hometown club Wolverhampton Wanderers and Norwich City.
In the 2013–14 season, Gray continued his excellent form. He scored a hat-trick against Hyde in October 2013. He was named the Conference Premier Player of the Month in February 2014. Gray scored 30 goals in 45 games that season. Luton Town won the Conference Premier title and were promoted back to the Football League. Gray won the Golden Boot award as the league's top scorer. He also received the Young Player of the Season award from the club. Gray left Luton in June 2014, with 57 goals in 111 appearances.
Moving to Brentford
On June 27, 2014, Gray joined Brentford, a Championship club. He made his first Football League start on the opening day of the 2014–15 season. Gray scored his first goal for Brentford in a thrilling 6–6 draw in the League Cup.
He found great form in November, scoring five goals in four games. This earned him the Championship Player of the Month award. Gray finished the 2014–15 season with 18 goals in 50 appearances. He helped Brentford reach the play-off semi-finals. Gray left Brentford in August 2015, having scored 20 goals in 52 games.
Time at Burnley
On August 21, 2015, Gray signed a three-year contract with Burnley for a club-record fee. He made his debut for Burnley on August 29, 2015. Two weeks later, he scored his first goal for the club against Sheffield Wednesday.
Gray had an amazing 2015–16 season, scoring 23 goals for Burnley. He helped them win the Championship title and gain promotion to the Premier League. Gray was named the Championship Player of the Year and won the Golden Boot award as the league's top scorer with 25 goals (including his goals for Brentford).
He made his Premier League debut in August 2016. A week later, he scored his first Premier League goal against Liverpool. On December 31, 2016, Gray scored his first Premier League hat-trick against Sunderland. He was the first Burnley player to score a Premier League hat-trick. Gray finished the 2016–17 season with 10 goals in 36 appearances.
Playing for Watford
On August 9, 2017, Gray joined Watford, another Premier League club. He signed a five-year contract. He made his debut three days later and scored his first goal for Watford in September. Gray scored five goals in 33 appearances in his first season. He continued to play for Watford until 2022.
In August 2021, Gray joined Queens Park Rangers on a season-long loan. He scored on his debut for QPR. Gray was released by Watford at the end of the 2021–22 season.
Adventures Abroad
On July 3, 2022, Gray moved to Greece to play for Super League Greece club Aris. This was his first time playing football outside of England. He played 32 games for Aris, scoring 8 goals.
On September 7, 2023, Gray joined Saudi Pro League side Al-Riyadh in Saudi Arabia. He played 26 games and scored 7 goals for them.
Return to England and New Club
On October 4, 2024, Gray returned to England, joining Plymouth Argyle as a free agent. He scored his first goal for Plymouth on October 26, 2024. He left Plymouth in January 2025 when his contract ended.
After leaving Plymouth, Gray joined Turkish club Fatih Karagümrük.
International Career
Andre Gray was born in England but has Jamaican family roots. This meant he could choose to play for either country. He was called up to the England C squad in June 2012. He made his debut in a match against Russia U23. Gray scored his first international goal for England C against Belgium U23 in September 2012. He played six games and scored two goals for the England C team.
In March 2021, Gray was one of several English-born players called up to the Jamaica national team. He made his debut for Jamaica on March 25, 2021, against the United States.
Personal Life
Andre Gray was born in Wolverhampton, England. He has a scar on his left cheek. He has spoken about how his family and his time at Luton Town helped him focus on his football career. Gray is a fan of Arsenal.
In May 2016, Gray started dating Leigh-Anne Pinnock, a singer from the British girl group Little Mix. They got engaged on May 28, 2020, and were married on June 3, 2023, in Jamaica.
