Angel Joy Blue (born May 3, 1984) is a famous American soprano opera singer. A soprano is a singer with the highest voice range. She won a Grammy Award for her role in the opera Porgy and Bess at the Metropolitan Opera. This award is a very important prize in music.
People admire her voice because it can reach high notes clearly and has a beautiful, rich sound. She can also switch easily between classical and more modern singing styles. Angel Blue has performed all over the world and has won many awards, including the Grammy and prizes from singing competitions like Operalia. Her family even says that when she was born, her father predicted she would become as great as the famous singer Leontyne Price!

Early Education and Training
Angel Blue studied music from a young age. She went to the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts. There, she learned to sing and play the classical piano.
After high school, she earned a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Redlands in 2005. Then, she got a Master of Music degree in Opera Performance from UCLA in 2007.
She also joined special programs for young artists. From 2007 to 2009, she was part of the Domingo-Thornton Young Artist Program at Los Angeles Opera. Later, from 2009 to 2010, she trained with famous conductors like Alberto Zedda and Zubin Mehta in Spain.
From Beauty Queen to Opera Star
Before becoming a full-time opera singer, Angel Blue was also a model and a beauty queen. She made history as the first African-American to be crowned Miss Apple Valley, California.
In 2005, she won the title of Miss Hollywood. That same year, she was the second runner-up in the Miss California contest. She continued to compete, placing as first runner-up in Miss California in 2006 and Miss Nevada in 2007.
