The Antelope Valley is a long, narrow valley located in southwest Millard County, Utah, United States. It stretches about 25 miles (40 km) long. This valley is close to the Ferguson Desert and about 40 miles (64 km) southwest of Sevier Lake. It sits just east of the Nevada border, near Snake Valley and the Burbank Hills.
There is another Antelope Valley in Utah, located about 165 miles (266 km) to the east. That one is also in the Great Basin, found in southeast Emery County and stretching into Wayne County. The Desert Biosphere Reserve covers the entire southeast, central, and southern edges of this Antelope Valley. This area is home to the small, low-lying Tunnel Springs Mountains.
What is the Antelope Valley Like?
The Antelope Valley runs from southwest to northeast. Water from the valley flows northeast into the Ferguson Desert area. It also collects water from the northeast side of the Mountain Home Range, which is near the Nevada border to the southwest. The valley is quite narrow, reaching its widest point at only about 7 miles (11 km) across.
How Can You Get to Antelope Valley?
Utah State Route 21 crosses the upper part of the valley. This road goes over the alluvial fans of the Mountain Home Range. Route 21 travels in a north-northwest direction through the valley. It connects towns like Frisco and Milford, Utah to Garrison, Utah. Garrison is the town closest to Antelope Valley and is located right on the Utah-Nevada state line, northwest of the valley.
