Anthony Nathaniel Davis (born October 11, 1989) is a former professional football player. He played as an offensive tackle for the San Francisco 49ers in the National Football League (NFL). An offensive tackle is a player whose job is to block defenders. This helps protect the quarterback and clear paths for running backs.
Davis played college football for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. The 49ers chose him in the first round of the 2010 NFL draft.

Anthony Davis's Early Life and High School Football Career
Davis grew up in New Jersey. He went to Piscataway Township High School. There, he played for the Piscataway Chiefs high school football team. He was a starter for three years. During his time, he made over 70 pancake blocks. A pancake block is when an offensive player blocks a defender so well that the defender falls flat on their back.
In his second year, Davis played with future NFL players Kyle Wilson and Malcolm Jenkins. They helped their team have a perfect season. They also won their third state championship in a row. Davis played in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. He was named a First-team All-American by USA Today.

He was the first top prospect from New Jersey to sign with coach Greg Schiano at Rutgers. He was also the highest-rated player to join Rutgers since Nate Robinson in 2003.

During his first year at Rutgers in 2007, Davis played in all 13 games. He became the starting right guard for the sixth game. He started the last eight games of the 2007 season.
