Ardnamurchan Point (Scottish Gaelic: Ard na Murchan, meaning "the hill of the great sea") is a special place in Highland, Scotland. It's a lonely piece of land that sticks out into the sea, known as a peninsula. This spot is famous for its beautiful Ardnamurchan Lighthouse.
Where is Ardnamurchan Point?
Ardnamurchan Point is located at the very western tip of the Ardnamurchan peninsula. This area is part of Lochaber in the Highland region of Scotland. The famous Ardnamurchan Lighthouse stands proudly here.
The Point is very close to Corrachadh Mòr. Corrachadh Mòr is the most westerly point on the island of Great Britain. It is just a few meters further west than Ardnamurchan Point itself. The closest small village to this remote location is Achosnich.
Nearby Islands
Ardnamurchan Point is surrounded by several interesting islands. It lies about seven miles south of the island of Muck. A few miles further north, you can find the islands of Eigg and Rùm.
To the west, the island of Coll is about nine miles away. The larger island of Mull is located five miles to the south. These islands add to the wild and beautiful scenery around Ardnamurchan Point.
