Bárbara Mori Ochoa (born on February 2, 1978) is a talented actress, model, producer, and writer. She was born in Uruguay but is also a citizen of Mexico. Many people know her best for her main role in the 2004 TV show Rubí, which was one of the most popular TV shows of its kind. Since 2005, Bárbara has starred in several movies from Hollywood and Bollywood. These include My Brother's Wife (2005), Violanchelo (2008), Insignificant Things (2008), and Kites (2010). She also appeared in Cantinflas (2014) and Treintona, soltera y fantástica (2016).
Bárbara Mori began her career as a fashion model when she was 14 years old in 1992. She later became an actress. In 1997, she co-starred in the popular TV show Mirada de mujer. After that, she took on a main role in the TV show Azul Tequila in 1998. She is often listed as one of the most beautiful Mexican actresses ever.

Bárbara Mori's Early Life and Career
Bárbara Mori was born in Uruguay. Her grandfather on her father's side was Japanese. Her mother has Lebanese family roots. She has two siblings, her sister Kenya Mori who is also an actress, and her brother Kintaró Mori. Her parents separated when she was three years old. Bárbara spent her early years living in both Mexico and Uruguay. She finally settled in Mexico City when she was twelve.
How Bárbara Mori Started Acting (1992–1997)
When Bárbara was fourteen, she was working as a waitress. A fashion designer named Marcos Toledo saw her and asked her to become a model. By the time she was seventeen, she was living on her own with her cousins. At nineteen, she met actor Sergio Mayer. They had a son named Sergio in 1998.
Bárbara later studied acting at a special school called El Centro de Estudios de Formación Actoral. She first appeared as an actress in the Mexican TV show Al norte del corazón. The next year, she was in the comedy show Tric Tac and the drama Mirada de mujer. She won her first TVyNovelas Award for Best New Actress for her role in Mirada de mujer.
Bárbara Mori's Rise to Fame (1998–2003)
In 1998, Bárbara Mori got her first main role as "Azul" in the TV series Azul Tequila. She starred alongside Mauricio Ochmann in this show. A year later, she filmed the series Me muero por tí in Miami. She worked with Peruvian actor Christian Meier on this project. Later, she acted in other TV shows, including Amor descarado.
In 2001, Bárbara got her first movie role in the romantic comedy Inspiración. This movie was very successful in cinemas. In 2002, she played a challenging role as a college student in the TV show Subete A Mi Moto.
Bárbara Mori's Major Success (2004–2008)
In 2004, Bárbara Mori joined Televisa, a big TV company. She starred as Rubí in a very popular Mexican TV show called Rubí. This role was a huge hit and earned her another TVyNovelas Award.
In 2005, she played the main character, Zoe, in the successful movie La mujer de mi hermano. Her character's husband in the film was played by Christian Meier, whom she had worked with before. In the same year, she provided the voice for the character Cappy in the Spanish version of the animated movie Robots.
She also had a main role in "Pretendiendo", a movie made with support from Chile and Mexico.
Bárbara Mori's International Movies (2009–2011)
In 2009, Bárbara Mori starred in the movie Amor, Dolor y Viceversa. This film was a psychological thriller about a female architect. She is involved in a mystery related to a surgeon's fiancée. The movie was filmed in Mexico City and Bárbara also helped produce it.
In 2011, she took on the main role in the action-drama "Viento En Contra". She played a successful business leader who gets caught in a police chase. This happens because of a financial fraud scandal. The movie was shown by Warner Bros and filmed in Mexico City and Valle de Bravo. Bárbara was also a producer for this film.
An Indian film producer named Rakesh Roshan chose Bárbara to be the main actress in his movie Kites. She starred opposite his son, Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan. The movie was filmed in New Mexico, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles. It was released on May 21, 2010.
Bárbara Mori was diagnosed with an early stage of cancer and is now a proud survivor. She shared her story in a documentary called 1 a Minute. This film was made by actress Namrata Singh Gujral.
Bárbara Mori's Personal Life
In 1996, Bárbara Mori started a relationship with actor Sergio Mayer. They have a son together, Sergio Mayer Mori, who was born in 1998. The couple later separated. In 2016, she married baseball player Kenneth Ray Sigman. They divorced in 2017.
Bárbara Mori's son has a daughter who was born in November 2016. This made Bárbara a grandmother when she was 38 years old.
