Bárbara Mori Ochoa is a famous actress, model, producer, and writer. She was born on February 2, 1978, in Montevideo, Uruguay. She is also a Mexican citizen.
Bárbara Mori is best known for her main role in the 2004 TV show Rubí. This show was one of the most successful TV shows of its kind. Since 2005, she has starred in many films. These include movies from Hollywood and Bollywood. Some of her films are My Brother's Wife (2005) and Kites (2010).
Mori started her career as a fashion model when she was 14 years old in 1992. Later, she became an actress. Her first big TV role was in Mirada de mujer in 1997. She then starred in Azul Tequila in 1998. Many people consider her one of the most beautiful Mexican actresses ever.

Bárbara Mori was born in Uruguay. Her grandfather on her father's side was Japanese. Her mother's family came from Lebanon. She has two siblings, Kenya Mori and Kintaró Mori.
Her parents divorced when she was three years old. Bárbara spent her early childhood living in both Mexico and Uruguay. She finally settled in Mexico City when she was twelve.
Becoming an Actress (1992–1997)
When Bárbara was 14, she was working as a waitress. A fashion designer named Marcos Toledo asked her to become a model. She became independent at 17 and lived with her cousins.
At 19, she met actor Sergio Mayer. They had a son named Sergio in 1998. Bárbara later studied acting at a special school. Her first acting job was in the Mexican TV show Al norte del corazón. She also appeared in the comedy show Tric Tac. The next year, she was in Mirada de mujer. She won an award for Best New Actress for her role in this show.
Rising to Fame (1998–2003)
In 1998, Bárbara Mori got her first main role. She played "Azul" in the TV series Azul Tequila. She worked with actor Mauricio Ochmann in this show. A year later, she filmed Me muero por tí in Miami. She also acted in other TV shows, like Amor descarado.
In 2001, she got her first movie role. It was in the romantic comedy Inspiración. This movie was very popular in cinemas.
Major Success (2004–2008)
In 2004, Bárbara Mori joined Televisa, a big TV company. She starred as Rubí in a very popular Mexican TV show. The show was also called Rubí. This role earned her another TVyNovelas Award.
In 2005, she got a main role in the successful movie La mujer de mi hermano. She played Zoe, and her husband in the movie was played by Christian Meier. She had worked with him before in Me muero por tí. In the same year, she also lent her voice for the Spanish version of the movie Robots.
She also had a main role in "Pretendiendo". This was a movie from Chile and Mexico.
International Movies (2009–2011)
In 2009, Bárbara Mori starred in the movie Amor, Dolor y Viceversa. It was a crime thriller. She played a female architect who gets involved in a murder. The movie was filmed in Mexico City. Bárbara Mori also helped produce this film.
In 2011, she had the main role in the action-drama "Viento En Contra". She played a successful business leader. Her character gets unfairly caught in a police chase because of a money fraud scandal. Warner Bros distributed this movie. It was filmed in Mexico City and Valle de Bravo. Bárbara Mori was also a producer for this film.
A famous Indian film producer, Rakesh Roshan, chose her for his movie Kites. She starred opposite Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan. The movie was filmed in New Mexico, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles. It was released on May 21, 2010.

Personal Life
In 1996, Bárbara Mori started a relationship with actor Sergio Mayer. Their son, Sergio Mayer Mori, was born in 1998. They later separated. In 2016, she married baseball player Kenneth Ray Sigman. They divorced in 2017.
Bárbara Mori became a grandmother at 38 years old. Her son had a daughter in November 2016.
