Baby Jake is a fun children's TV show from the UK. It first started on July 4, 2011. The show is about a nine-month-old baby named Jake. He is the youngest of ten children. All the children live in a big windmill with their parents. Interestingly, all their first names start with the letter 'A'.

Every episode, Baby Jake goes on an exciting adventure. He meets many magical friends. These friends include Pengy Quinn the Penguin, Toot Toot the Tractor, and Captain Spacey. There are also Hamsternauts, Nibbles the Rabbit, and Sydney the Monkey. These characters always help Baby Jake with his adventure.

A child tells the story in the show. You see all ten children in real life. But Baby Jake himself is special. He has a real baby's face on an animated body. Baby Jake makes baby sounds, and his 5-year-old brother, Isaac, translates them. A real 5-year-old boy voices Isaac. The real-life brothers Adamo and Franco Bertacchi-Morroni play Jake and Isaac. Kaizer Akhtar is the voice of Isaac.

Making the Show: How Baby Jake Was Created

The Baby Jake TV show cost about £1.85 million to make. This money came from the Irish Film Board and CBeebies.

The idea for the series came from Darrall Macqueen Ltd. They also worked with JAM Media to create the animated parts. JAM Media is an animation studio from Ireland. They also made another show called Tilly and Friends.

Maddy Darrall, one of the creators, got the idea for the show from her own family. She saw her 7-year-old nephew understanding her 1-year-old son. This made her think about how older kids can understand babies. Dave Ingham is the main writer for the series. He also wrote for shows like Charlie and Lola.

Where Baby Jake Lives: The Windmill

The amazing windmill you see in Baby Jake is a real place. It's called Sibsey Trader Mill. This mill is near a village called Sibsey in Lincolnshire, England.

In the show, the windmill looks like a big family home. It has extra floors, rooms, and windows. But it still has its large, working sails. When they filmed the show in late summer 2010, they had to wait for the wheat fields around the mill to be just right. This was so the wheat would have the perfect golden color for filming.
