The government of Mamuka Bakhtadze was the group of leaders who ran the country of Georgia. Mamuka Bakhtadze was the head of this group, serving as the Prime Minister.
This government was put together by the main political group, Georgian Dream–Democratic Georgia. It was formed after the previous Prime Minister, Giorgi Kvirikashvili, stepped down on June 13, 2018.
The new government needed approval from the country's parliament. They won this vote with 99 votes in favor and only 6 against on June 20, 2018. Later, on July 14, the government was approved again with even more votes (101 in favor). This happened after some changes were made to how the government ministries were organized.
Mamuka Bakhtadze announced his resignation on September 2, 2019. He said he had completed his mission as Prime Minister.
What is a Government Cabinet?
A government cabinet is like a team of important people. These people are chosen to help lead a country. Each person in the cabinet is usually in charge of a specific area, like foreign affairs or defense.
The Prime Minister is the main leader of this team. They work together to make decisions and run the country.
How the Bakhtadze Government Was Formed
After the previous Prime Minister resigned, a new leader was needed. Mamuka Bakhtadze was chosen for this role. His political party, Georgian Dream, was the main party in power.
To officially become the government, the new team had to get a "vote of confidence" from the parliament. This means the parliament members voted to show they trusted the new government. They passed the vote, allowing the new team to start their work.
