Balloo is a small village and townland in County Down, Northern Ireland. Its name comes from the Irish words Baile Aodha, which means "Hugh's townland."
Balloo is located near Killinchy, about 5 miles south of Comber. It sits along the A22 road, which connects Belfast and Downpatrick. The village is part of the Ards and North Down Borough. In 2011, 189 people lived in Balloo.

Exploring Balloo House
Balloo House is a famous pub and restaurant in the village. It has a very long history, starting as a coaching house in the late 1600s. A coaching house was a place where horse-drawn coaches would stop for travelers to rest and eat.
A Historic Farmhouse
Later, Balloo House became a large farmhouse. The McConnell family bought it in 1893, and it has been a place where people can eat and drink ever since. Inside, you can still see old stone floors and a traditional Aga cooker in the kitchen bar.

Balloo House is well-known for its food. In January 2008, it was named one of the top 100 restaurants in Ireland by the Bridgestone Guide. This shows how special and popular the restaurant is.
